The triangle symbolises protection against evil, and Asanoha, a collection of Triangles, conveys a meaning of strength and beauty. Hemp Leaf has strong vitality and grows vigorously without the need for much intervention, due to this the Asanoha pattern was often used on babies and young children's kimonos with the hope that they would grow up big and strong.
